Adventures in Science

We love this video of astrophysicist, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson. In it he is opening a crate containing a huge model of the Saturn V rocket in his office at the Hayden Planetarium. He’s so excited!  We even get to hear him talk about how the full-sized rocket was used by NASA to send astronauts to the moon.

Yes. That’s a famous astrophysicist playing with his model rocket at work! Some jobs are awesome.

But Dr. deGrasse Tyson doesn’t just play with his space ship models at work. As mentioned above, he is an astrophysicist and director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York. You may have seen or heard Dr. deGrasse Tyson before. He has been on many television shows and radio shows. He has his own radio show/podcast called, Star Talk. He has a web site. We have a great time following him on Twitter.

If you want to learn more about the Saturn V rocket and others visit aerospaceguide.net. That page takes you to a list of the different types of space mission rockets that you can explore.
